Toshihiro is a cousin of Katsutomo Kaneishi and has a father who owns Kart shop. He started to drive Kart in 1989. He won the championship for All Japan FA Class in 1994. In 1997, he got a title of FSA Class while he learned a technique of Formula at Suzuka SRS-F. From 1998, he started to participate in All Japan F-3 Championship.
He participated in German F-3 Championship as a team of GM Motor Sports Team in 2000.
